ZANTEL Sponsors A Poetry Book Launch

Zantel, the fastest growing telecommunication company, has sponsored the launch of a poetry book by an upcoming poet and writer Sandra Mushi as part of it’s commitment to promote arts and culture, as well as upcoming talents in the country.

Sandra Mushi’s ‘The Rhythm Of My Rhyme’ is just what it say - a collection of poems on the reflections of a contemporary young Tanzanian woman - about women and children.  It encaptures what the poet sees around her. She speaks in the voice of whom she writes about - from women in love; women out of love; abused children; abused women; content women whop have found themselves and women who just want to be.......read on

“As the host, we at Zantel view our participation in this event as an opportunity to further expand the scope of our corporate social responsibility.  We will continually recognize and nature talent and strongly encourage others to actively participate in any way or form which support the development of Tanzania arts and culture,” said Chintu patel, Head of Corporate Sales at Zantel

This is Mushi’s first compilation of her poems which she started writing in 2004 when she was on holiday.  Excited with what she had written she decided to share it with the world via the World Wide Web.  As they say – and the rest is history.

“I am please to share Zantel’s passion in building awareness about the arts in general and writing in particular.  I am grateful to Zantel for sponsoring this launch and I look forward to collaborate with them in future projects that deliver a positive impact on the community,” said Mushi.

Zantel has been involved in various community related activities through its CSR program, which is recognized as one of the most expanding in the business.  Zantel has initiated projects that address various issues, including environmental protection and conservation, manpower development, recognition of outstanding performance and education.

For book launch of Rhythm Of My Rhyme by Sandra A. Mushi
November 29, 2008 at Kempinski Kilimanjaro Hotel, Dar es Salaam

Good evening ladies and gentlemen,

It’s a pleasure to be here and welcome to the launch of Sandra’s new book, The Rhythm Of My Rhyme.

We are all here today to celebrate the work of a very talented individual and also to recognize the tremendous amounts of energy and creativity that has gone into this publication.

As the host, we at Zantel view our participation in this event as an opportunity to further expand the scope of our corporate social responsibility.  We will continually recognize and nature talent and strongly encourage others to actively participate in any way or form which support the development of Tanzania arts and culture.

Lastly, a quote fropm the late Eric Rolls – “you launch a boat not a book, you open a book.”

With that said, ladies and gents, it’s my pleasure to announce Sandra Mushi’s collection of poetry, The Rhythm Of My Rhymes, is now open.

Enjoy the evening, thank you.
